I have so much good news to share!
First of all, last week I got my Reiki certification!
Reiki is a mode of healing that channels light energy through a practitioner into the body of a client to help undo energy blockages and set them on the path to heal from physical, mental and emotional ailments. It relies on the notion of balancing qi/chi, or life force, and thus incrementally improves every arena of life through unknotting blocks in the energetic body and introducing healing light. It can be done in-person or at any distance. Reiki is not limited by space and time, so once a Reiki practitioner is attuned by a Reiki Master, they can utilize Reiki to help heal any number of issues for individuals anywhere in the world.
I completed an online Level I, Level II and the Master Level certificate programs and am thus now equipped to help heal at any distance and even to teach Reiki to others! In the short time I have been working with Reiki on dear friends and family, I have gotten amazing feedback and I feel the effect in my own body. I feel so filled with love and light as I work on people, and I truly feel I was meant to do this wonderful healing work.
Which brings me to my next piece of news…
You can now book a Yoga or Reiki session with me through my new online booking system! I wanted to make it easier for people to access my services, so I’m working with simplybook.me’s system to provide an easy way for people to book appointments and find out my availability for various services with the utmost ease. If you are interested in doing a distance Reiki session with me to help you feel more grounded and empowered or to address specific issues, visit the site to see when I’m next free 🙂
I have a new logo!! Here it is…
I designed my logo using http://logomakr.com. The symbols are a pictorial representation of verse 24:35 of the Qur’an that many Sufis love: The Verse of Light. It is a beautiful metaphor that the most famous Sufis have written commentaries on. The verse reads:
God is the Light of the heavens and the earth.
A parable of His Light is a niche wherein is a lamp—
the lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a glittering star—
lit from a blessed olive tree,
neither eastern nor western,
whose oil almost lights up,
though fire should not touch it.
Light upon light.
God guides to His Light whomever He wishes.
God draws parables for humankind,
and God has knowledge of all things.
So I am interpreting the verse for the purpose of the logo like this: The niche is the human body that contains within it the lamp of the heart, which lights the way to wholeness. When the heart is cultivated and pure, it shines and is filled with light, the spark of the divine. The oil that lights the lamp is wisdom, which allows for the cultivation of the heart. It is neither from the East or West because no one tribe or people should or can lay claim to all wisdom. It all comes directly from the presence of the divine. Working towards the shining lamp of the heart is exactly the purpose of yoga, Reiki and Sufism–and so I have chosen this as my logo to represent our fourth chakra journey, or our journey through the heart.
The logo is so meaningful to me because of the Light Verse. And I’m pretty proud of my creativity in designing the logo (of course, credit is also due to the artists who designed the preset graphics, making it easy to customize such an awesome logo). Let me know what you think!
I launched my Yoga (and now Reiki) Facebook Page a few weeks ago. I was so shy to put myself out there like that! Now that I have settled in, I really feel good about having a place to express thoughts, announce events and post updates! I’d be honoured if you dropped by and clicked “like” on my page.
I’ve made a lot of little and big changes to my website here! I would love some feedback about how it feels now! I’ve added a new testimonials page, where my two first regular students have left beautiful reviews about our work together! Check it out 🙂
To everyone who has supported me in big ways and small, I offer my heartfelt thanks and appreciation! It has been quite a journey so far, launching my own business. As a big-time introvert, I am so grateful for all the positive vibes that have helped me get where I need to be and go where I need to go.
May you be filled with peace,
